The Costco Conspiracy
Elon Musk has made a shocking discovery: if you don't need ID to shop at Costco, then democracy doesn't work properly either. The Tesla CEO argues that the everyday necessity of showing ID for banal activities like buying a 24-pack of toilet paper should also be mandatory for voting.
His thesis: without voter ID, voter fraud is not only possible but inevitable. "Everyone knows you can't even get a Costco membership without ID," Musk tweeted, shaking up the political landscape. The logic is unassailable - if you need ID to buy 50 rolls of toilet paper, then you must need it to elect the most powerful man in the world.
Critics point out that this argument has some logical gaps. It remains unclear why the necessity of an ID for buying bulk food items should automatically be transferred to voting practices. But Musk is undeterred and calls for a "Costco model" for democracy.
