Self-awareness at its finest
After weeks of internal testing, Grok, Elon Musk's artificial intelligence, has finally reached a conclusion that has sent the tech world into a frenzy: It can understand itself. "Grok groks" is the groundbreaking conclusion the AI published in an internal memo.
Experts are divided on whether this is a breakthrough in AI research or simply a circular reference to its own name. "It's like hearing a parrot say 'hello' and then claiming it can speak," says Dr. Helga Schmidt from the Institute for Artificial Stupidity.
Musk himself was enthusiastic: "Grok has proven that it can not only process data but also meta-data about itself. This is the next step toward superintelligence." Critics accuse him of selling a simple feedback loop as a revolution.
